Brief Description

Ministry of Health in collaboration with Regional Health Bureaus, Non-Government Implementing Partners and Funding Agencies, initiated more structured capacity building initiative called Competency- Based Training (CBT) of Woman Development Army (WDAs).
This is an ongoing study which intends to determine the effectiveness of CBT in improving the knowledge, attitude, skills and practice of WDA leaders and their network members. The assessment will answer the following questions:

* To what extent do WDA leaders react to the delivery process of the CBT?
* Will CBT improve the knowledge, attitude, and skills of the primary targets, WDA leaders?
* Did CBT improve adoption of HEP-related behaviors among trained WDA leaders?
* Did participation of WDA leaders in CBT lead to better knowledge, attitude, skills and health behaviors among their network members?

The study uses a mixed method design by adapting Kirkpatrick’s Model of training evaluation framework, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection. The study is being conducted in Woredas where CBT is implemented, namely Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, and SNNP regions. This study is funded by the JSI L10K Inc and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Health and International Institute for Primary Health Care - Ethiopia
